ディズニー『アナと雪の女王』の「Let it go」に出てくる難しい英単語や英文もストーリーがわかれば見えてくる

アレンデール王国の姉妹エルサとアナは仲良しで、王女エルサは生まれつき周囲を凍りつかせる能力をもっていました。幼い頃その能力のせいで妹に傷を負わせてしまい。以後その能力をずっと隠してきました。しかしエルサが女王の戴冠式を行う頃、パーティーで出会ったハンス王子と妹が結婚すると言い出したことによる口論がきっかけで能力が発露してしまい王国に甚大な被害をもたらしてしまいました。エルサは北の山中に逃げましたが「Let it go」はそのときのエルサの心情を歌った曲。

「let it go」は行かせようから転じて諦めのような心情の表現「もういいや」的な。映画を見た流れだとエルサがこれまでしてきた努力が思い起こされる。

「isolation」は孤独とか孤立とか

「howl」はうなる「Swirling」は渦巻くで

The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside(心に渦巻く嵐のように風は唸る)

insideは「エルサの心の中」。

( (魔法の力を) 抑えることができなかったこと神様は知ってるわ)

エルサが持って生まれた凍りつかせの能力のせいで王国は氷の世界に変わってしまいました。

「Conceal」は隠せ、エルサは王様から能力を隠せとずっと言われていました。王様からの言葉をここではエルサが繰り返しています。泣けてきますね。

Can't hold it back anymore(もうこれ以上(魔法の力を)抑えていられない)

ずっと抑えてきたんですね、かわいそすぎ；；

Let the storm rage on 嵐よ吹き荒れよ rageは激しい風の表現

エルサがストレスでぶっ壊れたという曲だったんですね！
